7 Key Updates from the Salesforce Spring ‘25 Release
Salesforce has just rolled out the Spring '25 release and it brings a plethora of new and innovative additions.
While each organization’s needs may differ, this guide will help you spot some of the most useful features, plan your upgrades, and make sure you don’t miss any critical updates.
Release Timeline and Planning
The release date for Spring ’25 will depend on whether you have a “preview” or “non-preview” instance of Salesforce, but the main release weekends are on:
- January 11, 2025
- February 8, 2025
- February 14, 2025
The pre-release has already been rolled out for trial on Sandbox from the 3rd of January.
Tip: Check your Trust Status Page or Maintenance Calendar to confirm when your org(s) will be upgraded.
To help you prepare for these upgrades we have come up with a short guide.
Let’s get started -
1. Object Permissions Name Updates
Clarity has been a main focus for the updates this time.
To ensure clarity, the “View All” object permission has now been changed to “View All Records,” and the “Modify All” object permission has become “Modify All Records.” These updated names provide clearer insight into the access they offer, making it simpler to understand and manage your permissions.

2. Flow Enhancents
Salesforce has made some great updates to Flows! Now, certain screen flows refresh in real time as you enter or select data, making complex forms easier to use. You can also manage multiple flows in a single process more smoothly, with better visibility into each step. Plus, there are more pre-built actions, like sending emails or posting to Slack, which are now even more flexible and customizable.

3. Einstein AI & Automation Enhancements
The Spring ‘25 release is full of AI upgrades. Einstein Copilot is like having a smart assistant right in Salesforce. It understands your records and context, offering helpful tips like fields to update, tasks to assign, or customers to focus on. With AI insights, it flags pipeline issues, churn risks, or even suggests service solutions instantly. Plus, you can just ask things like, “Show me high-value leads from this week” or “Write a follow-up email for my top deal,” and it gets the job done for you.
4. Sales Cloud Updates
Sales Cloud has some exciting updates to the way you segment and manage your accounts!
For opportunity pipeline and forecasting, there are upgrades to pipeline inspection, offering more detailed AI-driven insights. These help you spot deals that might be at risk, identify who's engaged, and get recommendations for your next steps.
In lead and account management, there's a new way to categorize and prioritize accounts using tools like Einstein scoring, so reps can focus on customers with the highest potential.
5. Experience Cloud (Communities)
Lightning Web Runtime (LWR) enhancements now make communities load faster with improved caching and advanced compression. Plus, the drag-and-drop builder has been upgraded with new ready-made components and page templates, making it easier and quicker to create community pages
6. Platform and DevOps
The latest updates to the Salesforce Platform and DevOps tools bring some fantastic enhancements!
DevOps Center - In the DevOps Center, managing pipelines and environments just got easier. You can now use more advanced pipeline features to better visualize and track changes across multiple sandboxes. Plus, with tighter Git integration, you’ll be able to see exactly who made changes and when—helpful for compliance and quick rollbacks if needed.
Data & Security - On the data and security front, there are critical updates to watch out for like stricter content security policies and upcoming enforcement deadlines for multi-factor authentication (MFA). Additionally, new sharing and restriction rules allow for more precise control over data access, which is especially valuable for industries with strict compliance requirements. These upgrades are designed to enhance performance, simplify development, and bolster security across the platform!
7. Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud -
The latest updates to Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud are all about smarter automation and better data handling!
In Marketing Cloud Engagement, Einstein GPT takes center stage by optimizing customer journeys in Journey Builder. It can suggest the best actions to take, refining messages, sending times, and channels automatically to improve campaign performance.
Plus, WhatsApp and SMS messaging get a boost with a more unified setup and enhanced segmentation tools, making it easier to manage mobile campaigns across different channels.
For Salesforce Data Cloud, identity resolution just got smarter. Improved algorithms now do a better job of matching customer data from various sources - like Salesforce, e-commerce platforms, and POS systems - while reducing duplicates.
Additionally, real-time triggers let you act on data updates instantly. Whether it’s kicking off a flow, launching an email campaign, or sending a Slack notification, these triggers ensure you can respond to changes in customer data as soon as they happen. These upgrades make it easier to connect, analyze, and act on your data for more impactful marketing and engagement!
